Kase was Martin Kase’s sister. Alice
Saltzgiver was Martin’s 2nd
wife. Elizabeth Kase was Martin and
Ellen Kase’s brother Henry’s
daughter as was Ella Kase Holland
also. Matilda Kase and Lloyd were
children of Martin’s 2nd
marriage. To Alice Saltzgiver.
Margie
and Jennie were children of
Martin Kase and Priscilla
Sterner.
This
log house was located at Buffalo
Valley and Highland rds. Highland
used to be called Kase’s hill. It
was the home of Martin Kase’s
parents Adam and Matilda (Shearer)
Kase. Matilda was the daughter of
Martin Shearer and Elizabeth Hetrick.
Martin was the son of Jacob Shearer
Jr. and Christina Dehoff. Jacob Jr.
was the son of Johann Jacob Shearer
and Maria Barbara Keller. This house
was beside Lucinda Shearer Cornbower
and her husband Francis Cornbower.
Lucinda was a second cousin to Ellen
and Martin Kase.
Ellen was the last
Kase to live here. She sold the
house and grounds(3acres) to Francis
Cornbower in about 1920. Francis
tore it down with help from his
daughter Mamie( Klinedinst)
Cornbower and it was used as
firewood. |
